Z1 carb finish
Have had the carbs on my '73 Z1 vapour plasted and just wanted to check the finish - recall that just the two outside carbs have the cap and bowl polished - is this correct?
Re: Z1 carb finish
Hmmm... had a look through previous Z1 resto projects and there doesn't seem to be a consensus on what gets polished, if anything. Dug out an old Z1 brochure and the cap and bowl of the outside carbs certainly looked polished so have followed the lead of Daves 73 Z1 Project and done the same. Last call for contrary opinions before I put 'em back on the bike.

Re: Z1 carb finish
I have a set of NOS carbs, 4 individual carbs, and they are all the same finish unpolished.
Re: Z1 carb finish
Thanks guys, would be great if Dogbollox could post photo of the NOS carbs - I have kindly been sent the following photo of a NOS carb that has satin polished cap and bowl, both items lacquered and understand this was the finish on all 4 carbs for the Z1. When mine were vapour blasted the operator indicated the caps had residual lacquer that was harder to remove.
Re: Z1 carb finish
that looks like anodising rather than polished
