Battery polarity
Bought a new gel motoblatt a while back and had it fitted to the bike to test out the electrics. It went flat down to 1.9 v hooked it up to my oximiser to recharge. Noticed that the red light saying it was incorrectly connected was on but it was connected correctly. It never charged after a few days and went down to 1.6v. Tried the charger on another motoblatt and all fine. Tested the duff one and it is now showing 2.9v and correct polarity so it is not reversed connected again to the slow charger and again it shows the red light Looks like it may have just gone duff or can I recover it

Re: Battery polarity
Some oximser's won't charge a really low battery, use a normal battery charger to get it up to full charge first then use an optimser to maintain it.
Re: Battery polarity
Thanks As I did not have another battery charger I connect the flat battery to a good one in series and then connected the oximiser. After eight hours disconnected the battery’s and reconnected the charger and after a couple of days all is well. Thanks for the info

Re: Battery polarity
If it has gone that low it probably wont recover.
Re: Battery polarity
Strangely Dave it appears to be ok. It was sown to 1.5v and appeared to recover to 2.2 This was without any interference I then went away for a week and when I returned it was up to 3.6 that when I wired it up to the other one asnoted above
