You can't. The band has to be cut off and it needs a pro tool to fit a new one without it showing. You can buy chrome top clock covers that fit over the top though.

The crimping rings can be careflly unpicked on the back to seperate the clock cases. New rings are available from a French seller via Ebay and with a bit of ingenuity and patience can be fitted without any visible marks and with no special tools.

Pictured below are my clocks that I fitted new faces and crimp rings to using nothing more than some plastic vent tubing from B&Q, masking tape and a big cable tie. The front face of the crimp rings are completely unmarked, the back faces do pick up some marks but if you fit the rebuilt clocks with Emgo clock bottoms, they are slightly wider than standard where the fit to the crimp ring and conveniently hide this.

if you get a sharp tool like a scriber or bradawl you can gradually open the silver ring from underneath .....then it can be resealed again gradually by crimping back with a flat tool

 Truly horrendous way of "crimping" the retaining ring with a big fat pair of pliers!
