EK, DID, RK, etc all as good as each other nowadays.
All down to personal preference and 630 is stock pitch.
530 is slightly lighter and just as strong and cheaper due to it being the more popular fitment on most modern bikes.
530 conversion kits are available from Cybike https://www.cybike.co.uk/Shop/Products/ ... r-z1-z1000 etc but you can put you own together using sprockets from more modern bikes.
Front sprocket Z13 spline is common on most kawasakis and Suzukis and the six bolt rear is still used on nearly all Kawasaki ZXR's etc.

As he said :-) Modern X Ring chains last 30% longer on average then O ring chains. Z1000 530 pitch rear sprockets are not available as equivalents from other bikes but can be made.

My advice is free if you want call me 01609 773486. No obligation to buy.

Correct. Z1000 A2 uses 15T front, 33T rear and 92 links. Multiply by 1.2 to convert to 530.

Something like a JTF513-18 Front with an inner spacer and a JTR488-40 rear with a 112 link chain.

Correction JTR488 is the equivalent

Yes! you need 18 - 40 or 19 - 42 to get close to the stock 2.2 -1 ratio if that's what you want.
The 530 pitch has a smaller sprocket diameter for the same number of teeth on the 630 so go as big as you can to keep the chain away from the swinger.

The 530 pitch has a smaller sprocket diameter for the same number of teeth on the 630 so go as big as you can to keep the chain away from the swinger.

To further explain...530 pitch is 1/5 (20%) smaller pitch than 630 (5/8" v 6/8"). Multiplying the 630 dimension by 1.2 will increase everything by 20% and provide you with the correct sprocket dimensions and chain length equivalents while keeping the original ratio.

I am going to write a two part article on chain etc to put on my website.

Just to clarify, I fell out with certain indivuals involved in the running of the club andnot the wider membership. I did try to extend an olive branch to the club but the powers that be rejected it. c’est la vie :D
