On changing the battery on my Z1000A1 I noticed the battery tray has the first stages of rust forming, could easily touch it up but think I would like to get it out,treat it properly and catch any bits of corrosion I couldn’t see ... is it a big job , I am a mechanical nightmare, I will be stripping the bike down a bit soon for new paint and cleaning around the rear arch...

Hi Damien , i am down at Wadebridge and own a 1000 A1 and currently restoring a Z1B . Give me a call and when i am free ill nip over to show you how to remove . I had same issue with mine so i removed and re powder coated . Easy job to remove and i am glad to help .
