Adjusters are fuel metering screws on CV's so wind out anticlockwise to richen.
If you set them up with a colourtune dont be surprised if the vary from one turn to three turns out across the set.

Quick update. All pilot screws now at 1.75 turns out and the stumbling/stalling and popping issues has gone :D
I don't have a colortune or such like to set each carb individually, but it feels pretty close to what it should be. Just need to balance the carbs and we should be good to roll (when we're allowed !).
I remember the CV carbs on my original J (back in the day) worked faultlessly for 50k miles, so I'm chuffed to get these ones back in good order.
Thanks to all for the advice :up

Colourtune is about £30 and worth every penny in my view. Another useful thing to have for reality checks is a basic infra-red thermometer, again about £30 from Halfords etc. which gives an early indication of emerging problems and is instantaneous unlike colourtune, vac gauges and so forth.
