Bodywork painting

#1 PostAuthor: z2.john » Fri Jan 31, 2020 10:38 am

Hi,
Anyone recommend painters for a 72 Orange/Brown body set? I was going to use Hutchy but think he might have stopped taking on work. I hear Simon at Flying Tiger is recommended.
I've used Dream machine twice before with excellent results but it was a while ago and have heard mixed reviews since then.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

Yes, Hutchy has stopped taking on work - I've not used them but I hear Art Attack Designs in Plymouth produce very good work: https://www.artattackdesigns.co.uk/

There are lots of views on Dream Machine's standard of work - ask Gonzo and others.....

Hi,
in the past i used Dream Machine and had excellent results, although I recognise that's not always been the case for other forum members.

Following feedback from several Z1OC members I've recently used Sean Dewis in Ilkeston: he knows his stuff when it comes to old Zeds and has done a great job on my Z1000A1: will shortly be sending an A4 paint set to him.

Could recommend the Guy I use John, he's done more Jaffa's than McVities (he used to do all Dave Orritts Zeds) but he's up Norf' so would require postage.

Yep Steve. #997 Desert Rat.
After 8 years of riding a rat it is time to finally restore her.
I'll be posting about it on here as it progresses.

I don’t think Simon at Flying Tiger is taking on paint work other than special commissions. I have used a guy in Malvern who’s good.

Simon has got mine and Martins body work and not responding at the moment. By the time i get it back, I will probably have to convert it to an electric motor.

A couple of people recommended Richard at Bangtidyairbrush.com .... He is in south WALES and has mine atm so can’t comment yet , however the work he was/has been doing for others was impressive ...I know some like stickers but he hand paints stripes

Well worth a look through his photos ....
