Hi Stogmuller
the Z750 twin tank looks the same but it's not. The place to screw the fuel tap on is more up front compared to a Z900 fuel tank.
The fuel tap might hit the carbs.

The pinhole can be repaired, but depends on the overall condition of the tank, where and how much rust there is as to the whether this is an economical option. Horses for courses I guess, but don't be persuaded by someone that may have a tank to sell you or one you've seen on eBay, as most second hand tanks are second hand for a reason unless you know the tank's origin.
By way of example, my survivor 1970 CB750's tank was rusty inside from stale fuel standing in it for over 4 years. I had it chemically stripped and this exposed a pinhole which had been poorly epoxy resin repaired. The pinhole was repaired correctly (tinned), the tank lined, dents filled and then resprayed. It wasn't the cheapest way to go about it, but the tank is original to the bike.

Hmmm , cheers lads for advice, my tank is really rough with thick rust inside,,! I suspect after chemical stripping it would resemble a sieve,,,realistically I think decent second hand is way to go ,,
