Evening Gents.

Before I put this on Ebay.

Could some body tell me if this was an after market item or a genuine Kawasaki one (or anything in between  )?

There were 2 'official oil coolers. The original one from Kawa Japan 99990-524 is the top picture. Kawasaki USA also did their version with part No K99990-524 which is the 2nd picture.
Your one is an aftermarket one.

I'm afraid I'm no expert on these coolers. I cannot really say if it is a Lockhart item.
Hopefully there will be some sort of makers mark on it that you can google.
Good luck with the sale.

The Lockhart ones had an aluminium cover around them and a large Lockhart sticker on the top side. They are worth reasonable money.

I have a Lockhart cooler in the garage, which I am tempted to fit on my Z1000.
