Looking to fit a new front tyre to my bike.T regd z1000. The current tyre is marked tubeless. The alloy wheel is Kawasaki 19” but isn’t as far as I could see marked as a tubeless wheel. Can I assume I can fit a new tubeless tyre, or might I find a tube lurking inside when I strip it off?

STD rim’s need a tube - the air tends to leak out of the spoke nipple holes
You can get kits to seal (special rim tape) but the fitment of tubeless on these rims is not truly compatible!

You should tell if it has a tube by the valve . It will have at that age

Hi Ian
if the wheel is not marked "tubeless" you will find an inner tube inside. To my knowledge the '79 Z1000ST was the first Kawasaki bike with tubeless tires, the others needed an inner tube. Perhaps there were others, I don't know.
It's not a good idea to fit tubeless tires on a tube type wheel, the rim is different and the air leaks out.
Buy a set of good tires (Bridgestone BT 45) and use inner tubes.
Good luck with it.
