Afternoon all
Has anybody installed Ohlins rear shocks and gone to fit the grab rail only to find it doesn’t fit anymore as the top of the shocks prevent two threaded lugs from lining up with the two frame holes!!!
Gutted.
Any fixes ????
Thanks Mike

Re: Rear grab rail
I fitted ohlins shocks to my z1000a2 and found that the lugs of the grag rail interefered with the shocks. The shock would be pushed slightly making it turn inwards. I removed the grab rail and machind/ground away the bit that fouled and then rewelded the hole. Then sent it for chroming. The modification is hardly noticable. I wondered when people would start to admit that fitting ohlins would have slight issues. If you need any pictures of the modifications then please ask.

Ok, will do tomorrow
Re: Rear grab rail
Thanks for the advice lads, but I managed to get the rail to fit after being very gentle with a a grinder with different wheels.
No damage to the chrome, so as you cannot see the rework unless you look really really close, I’m going to seal the rail with metal paste.
