Dear Forum
Got a fairly 'Original' Z1000 A1.
Need to take top end off.
It is generally clean but remnants of silver paint from past owners attempts are v hard to shift and get at.
I was going to send to vapour blaster but they all appear closed due to the WuFlu.
I've read about rigging up a soda blaster - But again not sure soda supplies..
Does anyone have a smart way to clean the head barrels cover etc without sending them off somewhere?
Also I jet washed the engine and it's taken some chrome off the LH clutch casing ! Again some previous owners improvements.
Does anyone know how to get the chrome off as it looks crap now. Want to take it back to polished Alu.
Thanks again
D

Do a search for head cleaning 3m If you have chrome on your covers this would require specialist removal

Elbow grease with most of it, but the chrome needs a specialist touch if you want to keep parts undamaged and turned around quicker

I'd think it would be easier/cheaper just to source another cover rather than trying to remove the Chrome from the existing.

Hi All thanks for the replies.
Source another side cover.
Yes probably cheaper when you factor driving / postage etc.
I think Ill take camcover, head & barrels to TSR vapour blasting. They seem good.
Just don;t like taking the cam shells out since they seem so happy and well seated atm.
