Fork ears? Is that the correct term? Anyway, my z1000 has a loose one, left hand side of that matters. We I brought it it had jubilee clips at the top of the ear that held it tight, as I have loads of time right now I’ve took the clips off. Left hand ear is slightly loose, there is around 5 mm of up and down movement. Any ideas how to stop the movement? Hope this makes sense, had a day in garage followed by a few beers. Cheers, Ian .

Have you got a collar missing, if not measure the difference between the top and bottom yokes

Hi Ian
there are 4 collars on each side, 3 beneath and one above the lamp holder/ear. When you say there's about 5 mm of play I think you're missing the rubber ring and the zinc plated collar just beneath the chromed part that sits on the bottom yoke...
Another reason could be that in the past someone changed the original lamp holder/ ear with another one of a different model. Measure them both to see if they have the same hight.
Good luck
