Engine paint removal - Paint stripper no good

Hi All
Got baked on silver hammerite all over my z1000 engine.
So got some what I thought was strong paint stripper but doesn't even touch it.
Rigged up my own soda blaster using a compressor - again, barely touches it.

Has anyone used acid drain unblocker, or a brush on acid?

Only other option is to fork out for 3rd party vapour blasting - But was hoping to keep it all 'In house'.

Anyone got any good tips?

Drain cleaner no good, that works on grease, I got heavy duty stripper from my local car paint supplier, it even softened up powder coat, most industrial suppliers should have some.

STRIP AWAY PRO. You can find it on evilbay.
works ok on 2k paint so should take off hammerite

some advice from a guy who stripped paint off from several engines and all "in house"
-take out the engine
-take the whole engine apart (replace the complete cam chain mechanism while it's taken apart)
-wash the engine parts in a tub with cellulose thinner, sometimes the paint comes off depending on the paint (do that outside and use a painters mask with filters or you'll get drunken by the vapours...)
-get some red and blue nylon abrasive rotative brushes and a good drill
-clean off the paint with the brushes (and use the same mask to prevent dust getting into your longs). I know it"s a long and painfull job. It might take a few weeks...
-polish the alloy covers and give them a clear coat (attention special clear coat for alloys ! )
-put the engine together again with new gaskets, oil seals, O-rings, ...
-install the engine

Just bare in mind when using an agressive paint stripper, while the engine is complete, the engine gaskets can get affected too...

I had exactly the same issue although with a very old and hard clear coat, you have to use a aircraft paint stripper it's just called "aircraft stripper" it is designed for removing paint from aluminum without damaging it at all. It is used in the aero industry.
I used it on my z1 engine and it brought it up like new, then I used mag wheel cleaner from G3 in devon...
Came out perfectly

P.s the after picture is with no polishing or wire wheels etc, you can do it the hard way if you want. Just YouTube aircraft stripper the results speak for them selfs..
