Hi all just looking for recommendations as I want to use zed style clocks on my project but have ditched the speedo drive as I am using different forks and wheels.
Would anyone have any recommendations as I seem to remember the replica electronic speedos were prone to failing quickly.
Anyone got any unique solutions?
Cheers.

Re: Electronic clocks Any Good Recommendations.?
I went for all electronic clocks and plumped for Smiths given price and a matching pair and 1970's period look, can't comment on reliability yet, but they are still working after 12 months, but very little use.
I ended up making by own mount for the clocks and made the pods with 3D printing, all a bit of a fiddle but definitely unique. Speedo needs magnets on a wheel, I went for rear wheel and needs sensor and wiring to be mounted.

Thanks for that they look good.
Might try and find something to mount in a std clock housing.

Had two, both lasted about 200 miles before dying.
Not sure whether it was the clocks being too sensitive or if the foam I used may not have been dense enough or even too dense. However repro clocks do have a poor rep.

I've got a Koso combined revcounter/speedo/idiot lights it's good but doesn't give the look that Phil wants

Having had a good web search I cannot find a suitable speedo that will fit into zed clocks most are to fat or digital displays.
Might just go back to mechanical drive and get new wheel spacers made up.

You can fit 82mm SMITHS ELECTONIC into standard Z1 - Z1000 MK 2 casings as I am in the process of doing this - (not getting very far quick enough - elderly parent care keeps getting in the way) - but quite a lot of butchering of the original casings to do.
Plus you will need to alter and strengthen the clock mounting plate also.

Thanks for that post some pics when you do it might be worth a try.
But they are expensive to take a punt on if it does not work.

I am looking at the smiths ones as well for my z1b project which will have a gpz1100 head and unitrack cams so no tacho drive. I tried a electronic rev counter did not even make it 2 days so got to send it back

Re: Electronic clocks Any Good Recommendations.?
As per my earlier post I have Smiths fitted for both speedo and RPM. The only thing I found was that the manual on the set-up was a little vague and the defaults stated were not correct. It is best to assume nothing is set correctly and go through all the setting sequence. When adopted this approach all is working fine. Making a re-set button is much easier than touching a wire to ground whilst doing something else.
