In need of cam caps

Just realised, the only head I have, has mismatched cam caps :(
Has anybody got a selection of caps they'd be willing to sell/loan me so that I can find four that work?
Alternatively, is there anyone who can make my caps work during this lockdown madness? TIA.

Hi Ian
we need some more information...do you have a Z1, Z1A, Z1B, Z900A4, Z1000A1 or A2 or MK2 or ST cylinder head?
The cam caps are different and they won't fit exactly. Even if you have cam caps of the correct type bare in mind that those were inline bored with the head to fit exactly. You can be lucky when replacing them but don't take that for granted !
So a bit more of information is needed.

Hi Phillip,
Got to be honest, I'm not 100% sure what it is. It's either z900 or z1000. Round cam cover, and 8mm exhaust studs, though I don't know if that was from the factory.
36mm intake, 30mm exhaust.
The caps on it are non ribbed type.

Any caps from the Z1 to GPZ1100 will physically fit the dowels etc and can be used to try and get a match.
It's only the design, ribbed/non ribbed that changed not the accuracy of the actual bolt on fitment to the head..
You do have more chance of getting caps to fit from a head in the same production run as your own because they will have been machined on the same tooling but other than that you have equal chance of finding compatible ones from any year.

Yeah, thanks Rob. Somebody must be hoarding a load of 'em, as it seems most of the heads that come on ebay are missing the caps. :sad

Ray Debben had a big old box of them last time i looked, having said that it was five years ago so might be a little box of them. Worth a phone call perhaps.

Big thanks to Kev for getting his caps to me so fast.
I've now got no.2 & 4 which seem OK but 1 & 3 still not great.
I can get them spinning pretty good with no dowels but clearly that's not ideal.
If anyone else has any 1's & 3's that I could have I'd be eternally grateful. Happily swap for the ones not working for me.
