OIL WARNING LIGHT FLICKER Z1B

Hello,
I was recently checking the head bearings and happened to have the engine running when I noticed the oil light flicker whilst rocking the bike. When ticking over
and riding there is nothing. I am using a semi synthetic 10/40 oil, would mineral oil be better?
Thanks
Stinky

Assuming your oil level or tickover is not super low is it?

Usually just a dodgy switch or wiring

If you have put a led bulb in they will flicker just a very very little bit. I have a bike that has all led's and on very low, say below 800 rpm it too always flickers.

Not really the same as your problem but I had the oil light on my Z1b flicker when accelerating after trying 2 new switches and after lots of head scratching thought it might be the oil pump. After dropping the sump it was found to be one of the philips screws on the oil pump had come loose and was rubbing against the driving cog briefly stopping the pump working . Simple cure tightened the screw up but had to fork out for new gasket. Let us know when you find out the cause of yours. Graham

Thanks for the replies, interestingly I have fitted led bulbs to all the idiot lights so may try a std bulb in here first
