My front brake (single disc) is feckin' hopeless - even after fitting an expensive set from Brembo FFS
Yes I know they're never great, but I want opinions on best pads for braking efficiency (not wear) pleeze.

Pretty much all much of a muchness Pigford. Best you can do is ensure the disc surface is perfectly flat and has no ridges by having them surface ground. I can lock the front wheel on my bike with standard master and caliper.

Disc is pretty damned good, new pads done +2000 miles and still not much bite
Put in new brake fluid and lever is nice & firm - have had better brakes on Zeds in past.
I do have all the kit to swap to a twin set-up, just need the splitter, may have to consider that option I suppose?

Mark,
Pull out the pads and check if they've glazed - if they are then rough them up and try bedding them in again.

my 1000a1 has a zrx master cylinder and twin discs and I think it would be better to put your feet down sometimes

Make sure the master cylinder is not a miss match, the twin disc and single disc are different sizes.... or check the piston on the caliper is free or the master cylinder needs a kit...
Or maybe a rubber brake pipe is expanding.
Lots of thing to check, but even a single disc should pull up pretty good.
Good luck Chris
