YUASA BATTERY STOCKISTS

#1 PostAuthor: dave cullen » Mon May 11, 2020 6:45 pm

Looks like I will need to replace the batteries on my Z900 and ELR before they go back on the road, I usually always buy Yuasa, but been ages since I ordered any, can anyone recommend a good retailer, used to get them at my local dealer, but long gone!

Thanks

I have purchased Yuasa batteries from "MDS battery store" (on-ebay), rated at 99.8%, excellent service and I believe they are selling genuine Yuasa batteries.

Do not forget it is now illegal to mail/courier any batteries with acid packs, and pretty much no dealers (even if they have acid) will fill other peeps batteries.

You would do better to buy from as local a dealer as you can, they are only supposed to be sold filled and ready to go
Why do I persist in debating with idiots ? I really should know better :)

but surely that's a matter for them if they are still supplying mail order is it not?

Sometimes Halfords have offers on batteries, sometimes 25% off, I got my last few Yuasas there on offers

Hi Dave, You might need to order it as they don't always stock a huge range in store.They appear to be doing a clic and collect and que at the door business at the moment.

yep checked that out, ta very much, I just need to haul the two bikes out tomorrow as from memory I cant remember what the yuasa battery codes are, then will see if they have them in stock for collection;

I just checked them again with multimeter and completely dead, the optimate stopped charging the ELR this week and the Z900 had gone t**ts up during winter.

My bikes are rotated every week on the charger, but I have lost track of how old the batteries are, probably older than I think!

Dave sometimes if a battery is stone flat a “smart” battery charger will not register it and not charge it, whereas an old fashioned one with no brain can revive it. Worked for me a couple of times, and they lasted a while longer. Worth a try if you have an ancient battery charger somewhere.

Thanks Chris, gave that a try on my Z900 previously and it didn't make any difference, as I recollect when I fired up the Z1100 last year, it needed a jump start, but I will try the charger on it today as a matter of interest.

The battery in it must be about 8 years old I think, so likely well past it.
