Further to my earlier post, my ELR battery is definitely knackered and not recharging, it is a GS CB18 LA 12 V 18AH (10 HR) fitment, must be quite an old battery now.

The Yuasa Yumicron equivalent is a YB18L-A readily available online which seems to be slightly longer and wider so might not fit in the rubber case it sits in.

MDS are suggesting a maintenance free Yuasa one at £92 quid, YTX20L-BS which is a closer fit, Halfords have it, but not the YB18L-A, any thoughts guys?

BTW the Z900 one YB10L A2 IS in Halfords and I am collecting it tmrw.

Bought one a couple of years ago for my Z1000J, battery box is the same size as a Z1100R, I can look what model it is when I get home tonight, pretty sure it's a Yuasa

Sadly, I forgot all about this, I was fiddling round with the battery at the weekend as well.

Hi Gus, sorry for delay in replying, it is a YB18L-A, mine was ordered from Tayna on Saturday, it arrived today VERY well packed, plugged, filled with acid, and packed in a vacuum bag with careful instructions to unpack.

They cannot send the acid pack separately, so this is their way round it, their customer service has been really excellent so thanks for recommending them

Excellent, I'll get a bettery for my Z1000R from there, looks a good deal with plenty of choice.

However not one battery listed on their site for my GPz750E Turbo is correct. It has the sense wire to measure battery level and without it connected the display will flash constantly, pissing you off.
