I had a stuck dowel pins so put my barrel in the oven for a bit (20mins)

Now liners 1 & 4 seem to protrude above the aluminium top face about 0.25mm - !

I'm presuming this is not normal and also not good? Or is it normal?
Suspect I have over heatd the barrel and they might have slipped a touch?

Thinking might put it back in the oven then have a go at knocking them flush with a soft faced mallet?

I know I deserve to be punished for crimes against motorcycle engines.

OK put them back in the oven and then tapped the liners all flush.
Just like nothing ever happened.

Liners are a light press fit.
Warming them in the oven or with a hot air gun is how I remove and replace them.
I usually stand them with the liners suspended and a weight on the tops to keep them fully seated while cooling.

Weights is a good idea. It's true they really don't need any heat at all before they come loose - quite surprising.
I'm hoping they have seated ok. Seems smooth / flush to the touch with the alu casting of the barrels.

Once the head is bolted down they will be pushed flush.
Especially after the first heat cycle and re-torque.
