Hi all
I am thinking of putting a lithium ion battery on my Z1B, I am pissed off at buying new batteries every year as I am unable to get electrickery to run trickle charger in my garage, has anyone done this if so is there anything I need to do?
Thanks
Jon

They need to be charged at a higher rate than lead-acid/gel (so what Chris said).

I used on on my old Harris Z1000 and it was fine for 2 yrs use (the sold it  )

I've now got LiFe batteries on all 3 of my bikes, and don't regret it at all.
I know that there are a few cautionary things that need considering (charge rate, having a good reg/rectifier, etc). I may just be lucky, but I've not had a problem, even with 40 yr old electrics on the bikes.
Without stating the obvious, you just need to make sure you get a size that will fit your battery box. When I looked, a lot of them seem to be 5mm wider than the standard battery. You can usually make these fit, but just something to be aware of.
