Zephyr front suspension rebuild

Hello - I am currently rebuilding the front forks of my Zephyr 1100. (well, a spare set I bought second-hand).

I appear to be missing a bit!

In this weblink: https://www.kawasakioriginalparts.com/road-bikes.html?blockref=99917-1524.F-09&machineid=880&year=1992&model=ZR1100-A1&country=GB I am looking for a missing bit - see image with bit circled:

Does anyone know where I can get just that bit, as I don't really want to buy a whole cylinder-fork?

Thanks in advance

You’ll have to try and get another fork leg from somewhere second hand in worse condition to cannibalise, which could be tricky as Zephyr 1100 forks won’t be plentiful, or see if you can get the part made using the other one as a pattern. Might be cheaper than the whole tube.

On the other hand the part seems to be available, ZPower give proper discount to club members so with that off it may come in around £100 for the new tube complete. At least it would mean the fork leg wasn’t scrap.

Thanks very much for this.

Might be talking out of ear holes but it's not stuck in the bottom of the leg is it?

Sorry for the delayed response, I don't seem to get notifications when people post, but I have managed to take some pictures. Weirdly - in my case, it looks like its plastic rather than metal, but not the same size? Technically I only need one, unless I was to "upgrade" to metal.
