1977 Z1000A1 Carb Sync query

#1 PostAuthor: Tonto » Sun May 24, 2020 6:20 pm

Guys, trying to fettle my A1 and a job I need to do is sync / balance the carbs.
Last bike I did was a Z1300 and was advised to aim for between 18 - 25 in / hg
Is there a recognised target range to aim for with a totally standard Zed thou carb set up ?

Any advice appreciated - Cheers Tim

Just aim to get all the vac readings as equal to each other as possible and then set the idle as close to 1000 rpm as you can .
Equal vac readings are more important than the actual value as throttle opening governs that.
Any specified hg reading will go out the window once the idle is set.
