Baffle removal

Chaps, on my GPZ11 Uni one of the baffles rattles. I've drilled the 3 rivets and eased the end plate away from the circumference of the silencer. The end plate now moves side to side, up and down but won't come out. Is it held in by the 2 rivets for the Kawasaki badge, general soot or something more sinister?

Sorry can't help, but I suspect this hasn't been done very much in the past.
Back in the day most people just junked the original exhaust and replaced with a 4-1 once they started rattling. Now that everyone's trying to retain originality I suspect there'll be a lot of folk waiting to hear what you find.

Not any experience with this particular model 'zorst but with many other models it tends to be the baffle plates which actually support the baffle collapsing causing the rattle rather than the baffle itself, and the only real repair is cut open the pipe and reweld/repair these plates with all the associated work & cost that brings.

Thanks chaps, as I said before the end plate is now loose after drilling the 3 rivets but the bugger doesn't want to come out. I'll try drilling the rivets for the Kawasaki badge to see if that helps. There are plenty of spot welds along the pipe but these must have been done before the pipe was capped unless they used a single sided spot welder which aren't as reliable as the conventional method. Just trying to work out how it would have been manufactured then reverse the procedure. I hope it doesn't come to cutting it open as the outside is really tidy.

Got the end plate off. It was just crap holding it in. TBC in projects.
