Yes but 4 w will generate more heat,
I had the neutral light green backing melt when using the wrong bulb.
Personally i would use he correct round bulb (expensive from z-power) but the longer more readily available hence cheaper and longer bulbs can run to close to the plastic cover on zed clocks.

Although you could use the longer bulbs in the speedo and tacho for ilummination without problems.

Thanks for that kwaker. A melting neutral backing plastic is the reason I want to use the shorter ones. Tho I will use the longer bulbs in speedo/ tach. The short 3.4 bulbs are available from India if required Tommy
