Airbox install

#1 PostAuthor: deka » Sun Jun 14, 2020 6:17 pm

After trying to fit the airbox with no luck fitted pods which are not my thing Any way after advice on fitting a airbox.. first off I have a kz9. The carbs I believe are z1r the airbox is z1000. This issue I have is they are a mixture of parts are the carbs bigger than standard and hence my lack of success. All the rubbers are new and flexible I can even roll the ones in the airbox back over. Am I wasting my time as they will not fit? Or does anyone have a step by step guide as this is driving me up the wall

Hi Derek
they all fit into eachother, don't worry . Put some lubricant in the carb holders, install the airbox and then the carbs.
Install the carbs from the right hand side. It's possible don't worry.
Good luck

I push mine partially (too far) into the airbox, then fit the carbs, then wiggle them back out.

Try to get the rubbers going to the airbox warmed up, gentle with a heat gun usually makes them more pliable and if the box is going in to the frame first time on this bike make sure its sitting as far back as it should be. Good luck .
