Re: performance brake callipers
Got Harrison mini six pot's on my A1
Re: performance brake callipers
I have Harrison 4 pots on my A4, a massive improvement over standard.
I’d also recommend removing the junction unit between the forks and replacing with 2 long brake lines directly from the master cylinder to the callipers.

Can’t get on to the pretech site as it’s undergoing maintenance but the Harrisons are nice - it’s s Z1r Tc snd I just about shat myself when I tried to brake ! Great pressure in the lines - like wood

Best have a matching master cylinder with upgraded brakes - I had a single Pretech on my old Z1A and the brake was ace but it too felt wooden with the standard M/C.

Re: performance brake callipers
Pretech are closing down, they hope someone will buy the business but still have some stock. I called for a calliper for my Z1000A2 but they haven't got back to me - he said he would if they had one. Shame.
I've ordered a Harrison now.

Re: performance brake callipers
You do not need to go the expense of Harrison and the like. If you fit floating discs and Nissin 4 pot brake calipers from Bandits and the like you will have a bike that will squeal the front tyre fairly easily. You should fit the master cylinder from the same type of machine and you will need adaptors for the calipers, but is very doable. I have that setup on my Z650.

Depends on the front wheel a lot of callipers are too wide at the back to clear a spoked wheel. Billets and Pretechs are pretty slim. Out of interest what widths are those Nissens?
Re: performance brake callipers
Have AP Calipers, with a mounting bracketS on the front end of my Z1000. A bit of a bugger to bleed, but good stopping power.

Re: performance brake callipers
I am not sure of the width of the Nissins tbh. I had the backs machined though to clear the spokes on the bike. Not taken lots off, maybe 2 or 3mm or so. No issues that way. I think they would have cleared anyway, I just went belt and braces.
