I’ve got a floppy peg

#1 PostAuthor: pablo » Fri Jun 19, 2020 3:42 pm

Quiet at the back.

One of my rear pegs is refusing to stay up when told. Does anyone know if there’s an easy fix for this? Z-Power sell pattern replacements for £20 the pair, but I’d rather fix than replace if possible.

You need to put a thicker washer on it or a washer if you dont have any, Pablo. Sounds like the corners of the peg mount have worn and the peg rubber is no longer acting as enough of a spring against the mount.
Also give the end of the rubber a few whacks with a rubber mallet to ensure its not come off the metal peg which would have the same effect as above.

Failing that, squeeze the mounting ears together a bit so it holds it tightly in place.
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Thanks guys - just got around to having a look at it.

Couldn’t find another washer of the same size (ID 25, OD 30) So fabricated one out of foam rubber packing material I had lying around. Does the job short term, but the bracket and pin have worn each other out pretty impressively so I think I might have to go for new replacement.

Unless anyone has a good pair knocking about?
