Age-related reg plates

Looking at the DVLA site it states that you cannot get an age-related plate if modern replacements have been fitted. On a 45-year-old bike I would have thought that many items would have been replaced due to wear or corrosion etc. Has anyone had any problems with this? I am also going to reclaim my original plate through the V765 process but the DVLA say the bike has to be registered first. Does anyone know if you can re-register the bike USING the original plate all in one go? The bike was originally sold on 1/5/75 to me and I have been the only owner. It was taken off the road in 1977, stripped down to the frame and has been in pieces since then. At what point during the rebuild is it best to start the re-registration process? I should have a rolling chassis in about 4 weeks and then on to the engine rebuild. Also, does anyone know if Kawasaki issue Manufacturers Dating Certificates for Z1's? Any advice greatly appreciated.
