Has anyone attempted to assemble the spring catch on a Doremi fuel cap before? So far the spring has shot across the garage 4 times, hitting me in the eye on one pass, and I've come close to bouncing the tank off the garage door just stopping when I remembered how much the paint set cost. I'm not sure about filing a ditch (see destructions) as the images are horrendous. I do have a spade so the ditch may well be the last resting place of this bloody tank.

use a female spade terminal & push it onto the spring stops the spring flying into orbit

z900a4 cap is different to the z1/a/b

z1bman - You Sir are a f***ing genius. Used a female double-bullet connector and it took 20 seconds to get the pin through the spring. And no eye damage this time
