Jammed swinging arm bearings

I’ve a Z1B I am renovating and I am trying to get the needle bearings that were put into the swinging arm, out. Yes, I wish I’d not gone down that route and left well enough alone, but alas it’s all too late.
As of now I have 4 needle bearings which I have utterly destroyed to the point where there is only the the outer shell of each left (between pullers, screwdrivers, drifts etc.) Despite only the outer race of the bearings remaining, these guys are jammed solid (though plenty of grease) into the swinging arm - I have no idea what they did when they put ‘em in. After most of the day trying I managed to get one to a point where it was sticking out of the swinging arm by about 3 mm. This is the extent of my success - none of them will move anywhere beyond this.
I am trying to avoid damage to the arm. Suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Stewart.
