Z900A4 Front brakes

#1 PostAuthor: RALPHARAMA » Wed Aug 05, 2020 12:41 pm

I'm starting a big resto on a Z900A4.

The front master cylinder has been painted with some sort of paint that it clearly wrong. When extracting it in the bead blast cabinet there is some plating/coating that at first I took to be chrome/nickle, but am wondering if it's some form of anodising where the dye colour has faded away due to UV.

It has twin discs up front, what diameter pistons should they have in them?

When I had mine done, black anodised yes, I was warned about the process possibly damaging the alloy.
It did create a small cavity but was well down below the seals. Be aware.

Hi Ralph
I think the front calliper piston sizes are 42mm ? If my memory serves me right. I picked mine up off the wemoto site £42 for the pair in 2009 me thinks they have gone up a wee bit since then.

I have recently purchased front and rear brake piston and seal kits from this company. I can’t speak highly enough about their advice and product quality.
