Hi,
I have just reassembled my camshafts, followed the Clymer instructions and turned the engine over afterwards but it locks up after one revolution. I lined the exhaust cam timing mark up with 1&4 tdc and counted back 28 pins on the chain for the intake cam but I’m wondering if I might have fitted the exhaust cam 180 degrees out because there are two lines on the sprocket.... Would that have this effect or have I been a complete nonse and missed something? I haven’t done the shims yet but they wouldn’t do it would they?
Any suggestions on how I could fault find gratefully received....

As you've got the clymer manual - look at page 91 - it shows how the cams should be lined up.

look at the bolts where the cams are mounted to the sprockets to ensure you've got it aligned correctly.

So, I had assumed the straight lines on the rubber were what you used to get parrallel with the top face, obviously not. Checked both Clymer and Haynes and both clearly show the inlet 28th pin mark but not the inlet. Put my old mans glasses on, got more light and found a tiny arrow on the sprocket, turns out that was it, all together now.... bloody numpty. Many thanks for the support! :D
