Z1-B brake pedal adjuster bolt

#1 PostAuthor: steve452 » Sun Oct 11, 2020 8:25 pm

I can't find any reference in the parts schematic to the brake pedal adjuster bolt and nut that screws up through the triangular tang on the frame (see pic). I think it's a M6 and prob 1.0mm pitch but I don't have the length. Can someone confirm that it is an M6 x 1.0mm pitch as I've got to tap the thread to clean it, and let me know the length or the part number if known. Many thanks.

Cheers guys. No wonder I couldn't find the bloody thing! For a start it's upside-down on the parts schematic and it's also nowhere near where I'd expect it to be shown. In the end I thought 20mm was a bit short (thanks anyway Warren for looking) because it didn't seem to match the pics in the shop manual. Believe it or not I used a vernier to estimate the size of the bolt from various pics in the manual and then compared them with the apparent diameter of the KS shaft in said pics then worked out the ratio. I guessed it at about 1/1.5 KS dia/bolt length and got 27mm. Erring on the side of caution I stuck a 30mm bolt in after tapping the hole to clear out 45 years of crud ( see pic). I think I got a result in the end but I should have done what John did and RTFM! I also had John Brooke's latest parts book, but didn't think to check it as a lot of the descriptions match my parts schematic. Double doh on my part :dead . Many thanks for your help guys which is very much appreciated.

the last three numbers of the part no denote the diameter & length of the bolt 6 being the diameter & 25 being the length
