Hi there,
Does anybody know if a gpz1100 gearbox cluster fits straight into a z1000 a2?

No it doesn't!
But can be done at a cost - change of bearings & bits - someone with more details will be along soooooon!

Been there, done that and as above, not a straight swap and not really needed .
Depending on model of GPZ you need a J input shaft bored out at the threaded end to accept the Z clutch pusher, Output bearing conversion and spacer for the larger dia output shaft , clearance to the selector drum , attached selector fork and a diameter reduction of 3rd gear as well as shimming the cluster to ensure correct centralisation of the cluster and forks to avoid selecting two gears at once.
On top of that the tooth form and ratios are different to the original cluster so you lose the option of using the kickstart too.
If you were to do it the only gearbox worth using for the conversion is the 1100A unitrack as this has the strongest tooth form and is the only one with a factory undercut.
