I know this question has probably been asked many times but a good battery replacement for a Z900 A4 1976 is my question of the day .
I have been buying s….t bateries for years but this year I thought I am going to get a Youasa ,so I look in the manual, albeit the dreaded Haynes manual and the info is Youasa 12 N 14 - 3 A so I go looking for that and see you can get them still on the internet (un -filled) but I’m thinking it’s easier to get the new replacement model Youasa YB14 L -A2 from my local Halfords filled and ready because I got a trade card and bingo it’s too big ! . I can’t say I remember ever trying to fit a Youasa 12 N 14 -3A on the A4 but does anyone know the correct Youasa size or another quality acid battery ?

Fit and Forget a Motobatt.....

Not sure if an A4 battery box is the same size but for my Z1-B I bought a YUASA YTX12AHL-BS (M62H4L) which fits nicely into the BB plastic insert. Runs at 12.6Ah (20HR)/210 (CCA). Dimensions are W130mm x D85mm x H170mm. Not cheap but does the business.

Get either a motobat agm or other agm. Fit and forget. No top up worries or drying out whilst on conditioner.
Just got a a4 YB10LA2 for the A4 and a YB14LA2 for the ZXR from Tayna to replace Yuassa wet batteries. Ordered 10am Thursday, delivered 2pm Friday. Came very well proteced and packed.
Went for powerline agm's, dont know if they are any good but for £60 the pair delivered not really fussed.

Another vote for Tayna next day delivery and i've never caught them out with something not in stock
I also use Powerline, good price and up to now not had any problem's.

Main reason I went for powerline is because they have a black case but good to hear they seem to last aswell. My other bikes have motobatt but they have a yellow case so I end up wrapping the bottom half in black insulation tape or you really notice them from some angles as the yellow is really bright.

Yeah, got one on the 900 but both 650's only have a tray under the battery. Don't know why khi don't use them on 650's. Not only that, £75 for 3 of them or 10 Bob for a roll of tape.

Motobatt batteries also come in black, I have them on my bikes. Just got to use B I think in the part number.
