I believe someone in Germany is offering a very original looking inset for the instrument console on a 73 Z1, anyone got any details please?

Re: 73 Z1 console inset
No not that, someone in Germany was meant to have produced a very good reproduction decal for the "idiot" light panel that was very close to the original finish on a 73 Z1.

Thanks for the link.
Has anyone purchased one of these and can comment on the finish?

Re: 73 Z1 console inset
The inset panel arrived from Z-fever and it's a marked improvement on the standard repro item.

Can you give it a full review? Looks a bit hand painted. I see it picks up the brushed aluminium look
but it looks painted. Thanks
but it looks painted. Thanks
Re: 73 Z1 console inset
I've just fitted one of the Z-fever panels and the quality is excellent, very difficult to tell from the originals. Would recommend

Steve,
Excellent quality reproduction and no, they are not hand painted.
How did you remove the original decal?

Re: 73 Z1 console inset
Steve, removing the original was my concern too.
As you probably know, the circular plastic piece can be pushed out from the back. I then started at the top with a very small screwdriver just to prise the decal away from the plastic. Once I'd got past the oval hole, I changed to a larger but very worn screwdriver with rounded ends and just worked my way across. There's quite a bit of glue but the decal came away without too much fuss. I then used a rounded scalpel blade to gently remove all the glue and residue. The coloured lenses have little tabs which also had glue stuck to them...again, these are easily cleaned up before popping them back into position.
