Refurbishing disks

Hi,
I want to refurbish the appearance of the disks on a GPZ1100
The inside bit that the pads don’t touch is silver.
Any idea what original coating they would have had to stop them rusting and what I could do to make them look new again ?
Thanks

Hi Jimbo

the discs are made of stainless steel, just clean them, use thinner to remove dirt and dust and brighten them up with steelwool or with a rotating blue nylon brush on a drill.
Good luck
