Loose gear linkage

Hi all,

The gear change linkage on my GPZ1100 is loose.
There is a pin that goes into the actual gear change arm that wobbles.
It looks to me like it is a rivet type fit.
Any way to sort this out or should I be looking for a new gear change arm ?

If you unclip the rod end you can run some braze or weld on to the back side of the loose ball linkage to make it solid again.
Done it many times.

I think when I sorted the same problem on mine I just took the boot off then zapped a tack weld on the back with a mig. Worked fine.

They aren't the best design really, they go sloppy on the peg on the clutch casing too and the ball joints wear, so the whole thing ends up looser than Freddie's hoop.
