Original selling price Z1-B

I will soon be starting my article on my Z1-B restoration that I promised Steve Cooper for Tansha. I would like to include the original price I paid for my Z1-B but have non of the original sales documents from that time. I bought the bike new on 1st May 1975 from Ken Kay Kawasaki in Stopsley, Luton. IIRC I put a deposit of £486 down and had a balance on HP of £800, making a total OTR price of £1,286. Does this sound about right? As I say I'm trying to remember a figure I parted company with some 46 years ago, so I could be miles out.

Any help much appreciated.

Sounds about right Steve. I paid £1126.00 for a new 650b1 in 77 from Paul Smarts Kawasaki on Kent. I still have the original bill of sale.

Steve,

This an original UK Z1B brochure and on the back is a price presumably written by the person who bought it:

Thanks for all the help guys. I've settled on an original selling price of £1286 for my article as that seems to match the info I've received from various sources and also seems to ring a bell in my memory. How times have changed, From £1286 in 1975 for the top-of-the-range Kwacker (Z1-B) to £22,136 in 2016 for the then top-of-the-range Kwacker (Ninja H2).

Sounds right. I bought my Z900 in March 76 and the list price was £1369. I sold it a year later for £1050 after doing 6 race meetings and a big road crash (new frame). The Euro rear mudguard would have been worth close to £1050 now
