Hi, I'm hunting for some barrels with standard bore for my B2 and wondering if uni track barrels are compatible before I put a post up in the Wanted section?

1000cc engines with the 17mm cranks have barrels which are a little less than half a mil shorter. Something like 0.4mm or so. I am going to guess its the same for 1100cc engines with 17mm cranks but ive not measured them. The Unitrak has an 18mm small end and for that reason the barrels may be slightly taller but that wont stop you using them interchangably. The other difference is that some 1100 barrels have different numbers of counterbores round the outer oil carrying studs. Some none, some 2 some 4. Soft fibre gaskets in the modern pattern leak badly with any of these formats but if you want to play it safe, use a 1 piece MLS head gasket from somewhere like Debbens, Grumpy 1260 or Suzuki Performance Spares.

Classic bike mag has an article on IMD pistons this week and they are providing standard liners and piston kits.
Not sure if the B is covered by them but might be worth a look.

Many thanks for the replies.
Doesn't look like IMD do gpz, but liners could be the way to go if barrels don't come my way! The bike currently has 1170 wiseco pistons, done 30 years ago, I think I need new and maybe go 1135 this time

GPZ1100B2 have 17 mm wrist or small end bearings and z1100 upto 82,unit rack barrels do fit but have 18 mm small end Pistons. Have got a piston kit 1170 with head gasket from cruzuzing image from Japan and are excellent quality. Z1100 are same barrels but silver and cheaper plus all bolts o rings are all the same. Have had my GPZ1100 B2 for about 20 years and have had it apart couple of times, plus mate has one engine in a Reliant . Hope this helps
