Hi guys
What causes oil to end up in the airbox, the bike ran well during a motorway ride at a steady 70mph for 90 miles without a stop
Cheers

The air box is connected to the engine breather under the carbs by a little tube so oil mist does end up settling in the air box.
It's normal though unless it's swimming in it.
Over filling the motor or some blow by past the pistons will make it worse.

The oil was dripping onto the swinging arm, the last compression test was
In 2019

Not bad comp numbers and all within 15 psi from lowest to highest.
Maybe needs some more miles on it to see if it settles before looking at a possible hone and re-ringing or whatever.

if it needs a re-ring block off ie plug air box and re route to a catch tank temp of course till you get round to it saves a lot of stains and cleaning

Plus, you don't really want oil dripping off the swing arm onto the rear tyre when you're out riding.

Why not? It'd be just like riding an old Brit bike
