Chroming

Any recommendations for chroming Z1 cylinder head nuts to a OEM finish please.

I use a guy near Brands Hatch, he did a great job on my engine cases.
Chatting to a few lads up at newlands corner, it seems he is in demand. I will put his details up tomorrow.

It’s hard to get a chromer that doesn’t over polish the parts.

They polish the parts to get all the pitting and damage caused by corrosion over the years out, most steel parts originally would have been plated right after pressing/machining without further finishing, so to get back to that is a very tall order, buying new is a better way to get a factory finish.

An almost impossible task if you want to retain the turning and milling marks as seen below. Only option is to get them de-chromed and then you do any prep work yourself. Then return for chroming with explicit orders not to polish. Good luck. If the nuts are badly pitted I wouldn't even bother :(
