Z900a4 - What's this for

All, I've had another brain fumble, please see the pic attached. I found & lost this part in the house, and I cant remember, did I replaced with a modern item, or did I kept the original part because I am a hoarder (and then lost it), what's its purpose.. Thank you.

Argggh, which I replaced with the new mod unit under the battery box...
