Is there such a huge functional difference between the genuine gasket and the pattern. Considering the £40+ difference in price with discount, is the genuine worth that much over the pattern?
I had a pattern on previously but am now rechecking the clearances and the gasket got damaged as I removed the cam cover necessitating a replacement. The pattern was fine with no leaks.
Any preferences here?

Re: Cam cover gasket
Genuine are a better fit. You dont end up with gasket protruding past the edges . Not a problem really just a bit unsightly, especially if they are blue or some other bright colour. Permanent black marker is your friend then.
If you lightly smear grease on both faces before fitting they tend to be easier to get off next time without tearing.

Thanks Warren.
I think I'll go pattern as I'm not that much of a rivet counter. I did smear the previous one with grease but it didn't work this time
