Speedo Trip

Afternoon guys,
I am a new member from Ayrshire.

My Z1B Speedo works fine but the trip and mile o meter is not registering the correct mileage.
Should I strip it to try a fix or is it a specialist job ?

Hi
welcome to the club.
Dismantling a speedometer is not an easy job.
I think you should ask this to someone who really knows what he's doing.
This item should be posted in the "Bike Help" section to receive better answers.
Show us some pictures of your pride and joy please. Don't be shy.
Greetings from Belgium
Philippe

Thanks Guys,
Your right this post is in the wrong place, but I thought I would tell you my tale.
As my Speedo was not original anyway I thought I would have a go. I could not find anything on the site or YouTube to give me “The Tip” I was looking for.
This was unfortunate as if I had know what was wrong I would have been able to fix it without uncrimping and recrimping the casing.
Once apart I could see the vertical drive had been pulled away from the horizontal worm wheel which drives the mileomiter, this could have been because a previous owner had used pliers to tighten the knurled nut under the Speedo.
I simply had to grip the Speedo in the vice and pull the threaded casting back to the correct position ( mere millimetres )
This could have been attempted even by hand without taking the Speedo apart.
I hope this helps if somebody else has a working Speedo but a non working trip/mileomiter.

PS Bought the chrome clock casings (which I don’t like) but just used the chrome collar to hide the unsightly crimping.
