Rim date code

Whilst tuning Kawarascals Z1B I noticed that the rim code was 304 which is april 73 so an replacement with an earlier rim.
However, after Japan it also had 391 embossed. Is that the specific rim number? Ie rim number 391 of april 73? or something else entirely? It does appear to be in a SLIGHTLY different font.

The 304 is the rim type not the date code. 304 were used on S2A's. The date code is the 391 which I believe (but cannot confirm) is March 1991

304 is the model/type not year/month of manufacture....

Thats how I thought it worked as well John which is why I thought the 304 must be the date number.
Not sure what bike the rim could have come off if ot is a 91.

It was probably a New replacement in the 90's. I remember buying Takasago 303 rims in the nineties from David Silver spares. I still have them and just had a look. 495 on my rim which I am pretty sure is April 1995 and would tie in perfectly with when I bought it from D Silver spares

Thanks guys . Although it surprises me that rims were still available that late unless they were used on other later models/manufacturers.

Takasago were taken over by DID in the late 90's or maybe early 2000's
