Hi lads,
Any idea how I can get the wire terminal out of the housing without making SH!TE of it?

I tried several times without success to remove the back or gain any sort of access. Ultimately, i just used good quality, thin, in-line connectors for the snapped wires, connected it up electrically and spun up the sender with the chuck of an electric drill to test to see if it worked which it didn't. I washed it many times with stale petrol and eventually it all came good.
Mechanically, its a bit of a minefield to get it mounted without destroying the flimsy drive flange, so again, once it was satisfactorily engaged, i spun up the front wheel with the drill chuck* to see if it worked and it was fine.
* bike lifted so front wheel off the ground, ignition on and drill chuck pressed hard against the tyre to get it to turn at different speeds.

Thanks Al,
It does seem that the back would unscrew if you could get a proper grip on it. I think I'll solder the wire and heat shrink.
