Z1 1972 build date

Hi, I have just bought a 72 Z1 with the frame number in the higher end of the 300 range, therefore what month would this have most probably been built?
Also, should it have the carb balancer tubes in the head or the inlet rubbers?

congratulations with your newest asset!
I think your bike was build in the beginning of August '72.
The carb balancer tubes should be in the head, not in the inlet rubbers.
Get a copy of John Brookes' magnificent book: "Kawasaki Z1 & Z2 restorer's parts book" in order to do it correct.

Hi, it’s already been restored as it was done about 8 years ago and only done 38 miles since! It won 1st place at the VJMC in 2014.

September 72 bikes were roughly in the frame region of 00115 to 00750, therefore yours is approx mid Sept 72. A dating letter request to KUK will give exact date but will cost you for their service.
